Jaz Media Environmental Policy
This policy statement sets out the overall aims and objectives related to the way in which our services should be carried out.
The company is committed to carrying out its activities in as sensitive and responsible manner as is possible to protect and enhance the environment when and where at all possible. Specifically, Jaz Media will seek to:
• Minimise direct and indirect impacts on the environment with respect to pollution and contamination and will minimise waste materials that may be generated by its activities.
• Operate its business in a sustainable manner and in particular, reduce energy consumption by all practical methods, at all its office and other operating site locations, where the opportunity arises.
• Find ways to minimise the consumption of materials (raw, processed, recycled or reused) during its normal activities.
• Comply at all times with relevant environmental, health and safety legislation and any other requirements that it may adopt to follow.
• Jaz Media adopt the most environmentally sensitive methods of transport and assessment methodologies, used in pursuit of its normal activities,
that offer practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide, where necessary, additional environmental awareness
instruction to ensure a high level of general environmental understanding about the Company’s activities is maintained.
• Ensure all its sub-consultants or other seconded temporary staff also adhere to the policy objectives.
• Improve its environmental performance on a continuous basis, by regularly reviewing this policy and the specific measures or methods it uses to meet these objectives.
Jaz Media Health and Safety Policy
Jaz Media recognise there is an increased emphasis on the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace. We accept our responsibilities for health, safety and welfare under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for staff, visitors and contractors. Jaz Media will ensure that:
• A member of the management team is responsible for maintaining safe machinery and equipment reporting to the Managing Director.
• Management and staff are required to maintain the health & safety at work by the observation of agreed practices and procedures for improved standards of protection for all persons using the company’s premises.
• The company is annually assessed by an independent auditor for Health and Safety as expressly required for insurance purposes.
• Service and maintenance contracts on plant and machinery are up to date.
